Thor has been involved in various projects that seek to advance public interest advocacy, public policy, pre-democracy advocacy, and individual rights.
He has a burning desire to correct the various social injustices in the world. That is what led to the establishment of the Oslo Freedom Forum an annual human rights event. The event was founded in 2009 as a one-time event, but due to the impact it had, it has been running as an annual event ever since.
Thor serves as the President of the Human Rights Foundation which is an organization that is focused on upholding human rights and freedom. He is the patron of the Children Peace Movement in Czech.
He has specialized in human trafficking, slavery, and actions that threaten democracy. Thor was at one time invited to speak at the British Parliament.
In 1999, he became the first executive director and C.E.O of the Foundation for Human Rights in Education.
